The History

Move was founded in 2017 by Michael Carr-Smith, formerly a Director at Barclays Bank in New York City. Michael spent twenty five years in capital markets primarily in New York City and Hong Kong, interfacing with the world’s top money managers. Michael’s vision was to create a bespoke wealth management / Private Banking model that allows clients to create a tailored portfolio’s that suited both their risk profile and their time frames. This allows clients to access normally hard to access managers from around the world. Considering there are over 10,000 public market hedge funds alone, knowing where to start is an insurmountable task for even for the most experienced bankers. 

Move’s investors are primarily family offices, and high net worth investors. Move is familiar with serving and understanding the needs of institutional investors, Private Offices, Endowments, & Foundations
